Infamy: December, 1941 and We Remember: Images from the National World War II Museum

December 8, 2016 - January 23, 2017

In remembrance of the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the Stauth Museum is hosting two exhibits to tell the story of the dedication, achievements and sacrifices of the men and women who served our country so gallantly. The exhibits will be on display from December 7, 2016 through January 22, 2017 in the Special Exhibitions Gallery. “Infamy: December 7, 1941” is a powerful photographic exhibit of 62 panels that illustrates the deadly Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor – the dark day that plunged our nation headlong into World War II.

“We Remember: Images from the National World War II Museum” exhibit includes 75 images from the collections of The National World War II Museum and the National Archives. It is a mixture of iconic images, as well as lesser-known and never-before-published snapshots taken by veterans.

As part of this exhibit, we will be featuring four WWII movies. Click each movie to learn more.
December 8th, 1:00PM | “Pearl Harbor” | PG-13
December 20th, 6:30PM | “At War With The Army” | G
January 7th, 1:00PM | “Schindler’s List” | R
January 22nd, 2:00PM | “Unbroken” | PG-13

We will also be showing a movie everyday in December that we are open. Check out the right side bar on our home page or our events calendar for a full list of movie showings.

“Infamy: December 7, 1941” and “We Remember: Images from the National World War II Museum” were both developed by the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.

The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world – why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today – so that future generations will know the price of freedom, and be inspired by what they learn. Dedicated in 2000 as The National D-Day Museum and now designated by Congress as America’s National WWII Museum, it celebrates the American Spirit, the teamwork, optimism, courage and sacrifice of the men and women who fought on the battlefront and served on the Home Front.
